Book Trail: The Razor’s Edge by Somerset Maugham

Before I made the decision to enroll in medical school, I sought one thing: assurance that it was okay to follow my heart, instead. This book—a recent recommendation by a friend—is that assurance. What a wonderful read it was. It’s been along time since I’ve been truly engrossed. For two weeks, I carried this book everywhere. On walks. To the beach. Mornings. Evenings. The story is beautiful, outlining a young man’s journey to wholeness, in the 1920s. It reads like it was written today.
