Look no further if you need a punch in the face. I need one every so often.
You and I didn’t need a book to tell us that our life is softer than it once was. This book is cool in the way in connects who we evolutionarily were to who we are, and it’s helped me greatly decrease the amount of time I spend on my phone (averaging now 1 hour and 55 minutes per day across the week, still a gross statistic).
And, it’s boosted my creativity by hammering home the idea that we need to be bored. If you’re looking to get after something big in your life, I believe this book will help. If you’ve read it already, I’d love to talk about it.

My wife says that trail runners just need something hard to do, because our lives are too easy these days. I think she’s right.
I think that’s accurate. Something very natural about suffering toward a cause you desire!
Loved this book and have recommended it to friends and family. It gave me a new perspective about hunting, and I started rucking. In general I agree that for most of us being physically uncomfortable makes us think something is wrong, and needs to be fixed. On the flip side being physically uncomfortable on purpose makes you realize how much you can actually endure.
I couldn’t agree more. I think about this book regularly. It’s such a simple but profound way to live! Glad you enjoyed it too.
