Along this journey that got me here—where I quit medicine to write and refurbish furniture—I was lost, a lot, as I strived to own a life I love. I needed guidance. Bearings. Tough love. Encouragement. And I needed examples of other people doing it.
I like to read. But I claim no authority over what’s worth reading and what’s not. All I can say is that the following five books, I’ve read at least five times. And I can’t see a future where I don’t read them again. Because they simply help me, be me.
Here they are:
Book One: Wherever You Go There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn
Book Two: Zen Mind Beginner’s Mind by Shinriyu Suzuki
Book Three: The War of Art by Stephen Pressfield
Book Four: Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman
Book Five: Sacred Hoops by Phil Jackson
