Newsletter #102: Where Capability Meets Its Death

Up to a certain point, cans are more valuable than our cannots.

An important can from my early adulthood: learning I can be a teacher. I’d never taught anything, but I learned how. From then on, I knew I could do something I’d never done before. This has been a valuable understanding.

Though, past a certain point, cannots become more valuable than our cans.

An important cannot from my recent life: I cannot be a doctor and be who I am. From then on, I knew I couldn’t do something any longer. This too has been a valuable understanding.

Cans generate freedom; then, they enslave us. As much as we wish it were different, capability cannot be depended on forever. Liberation only follows our admission of inability.

To livin’ a life we love,
